PJ Morton won his first GRAMMY award for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his self-released, live rendition of “How Deep Is Your Love” (feat. Yebba). Morton celebrated three additional 2019 nominations for Best R&B Album (Gumbo Unplugged), Best R&B Performance (“First Began”), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You”). After 2018 nods for Best R&B Album (Gumbo) and Best R&B Song (“First Began”), yesterday also marked the first time in history that an R&B record and its live counterpart have ever been up for consecutive Grammy honors.
