The single was released on May 21, debuted at No. 1 on the chart for the week of June 5, and has remained at No. 1 on the chart ever since. In 2020, BTS’s “Dynamite” topped the chart a total of three times, but now “Butter” has broken that record by topping the chart a total of four times, all of them in consecutive weeks. This is also the record for the longest-running No. 1 hit by any Asian act.
